It is a superb experience to have your mind and body awakened at the same time

Yoga... is it for us? Should we continue searching and waiting? Here, we are not going to tell you in detail why yoga is so mysterious and attractive, because it is a long story. We just suggest: put on some soft cotton clothes and go "touch" yoga yourself.

The morning after my first yoga session, I felt sore all over, which was unexpected.

That feeling of soreness is actually very familiar. It also occurs occasionally after climbing up and down to organize bookshelves and move old books. But it was unusual... I carefully stretched my muscles again, deliberately stimulating the sore spot, and found that the sore feeling seemed to flow through the capillaries, throughout every inch of skin in my body. However, the inner experience is indescribable, as if I had a refreshing conversation with my own flesh and blood. The ligaments and bones in my body that have been with me for many years but are still unfamiliar to me are awakened by yoga.

Y+, Yplus is located in an old house. In addition to the plain white yoga studio, Y+ has walls painted in palace red, glass windows without frames and wooden stairs. The green of the yard effortlessly comes into view. There is also plenty of freshly squeezed juice and a professional American yoga instructor who knows Chinese acupuncture and can play the saxophone. Maybe Y+ is not the best professional yoga club in Shanghai, but it is definitely the old house with the strongest yoga flavor.

In HOTYOGA, a hot yoga studio, beautiful music with constantly changing styles is playing. However, the ASHTANGA training class was surprisingly quiet and all you could hear was each student's increasingly heavy breathing.

The practice room is neatly laid with blue professional yoga mats, which are soft and non-slip, so that tired feet can gradually become attached to them when performing various movements barefoot.

HOTYOGA Hot Yoga:

Don’t forget to take a deep breath!

HOTYOGA, a modern yoga popular in New York, is the same as all popular yogas. It is definitely not to teach you “how to gain freedom in life”. However, HOTYOGA is attractive enough to modern people.

Hot yoga has certain requirements for the practice environment and is generally performed in a room with a temperature of 34-38 degrees Celsius. Hot yoga includes 26 series of postures, each of which is relatively independent but connected from beginning to end. If a beginner who has poor basic sports skills wants to strike a proper pose, he will probably make a fool of himself, stumble and fall. The relatively high room temperature will make you sweat profusely after 5 minutes even if you don't move. Can you imagine what it's like to exercise in such a room? It's like taking a sauna.

Our hot yoga instructor is named Sean. He has lived in Shanghai for nearly two years. He majored in biology in an American university. Sean is very interested in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. Sean has been practicing yoga for 6 years. He has a very mysterious Chinese name, Dao Lingshi.

Mr. Song Guangming, a yoga master in Shanghai, compared the sweating caused by hot yoga with the sweating after sauna. He believed that sauna relies purely on external heat energy acting on sweat glands, and the transfer of heat is from the outside to the inside and is uneven. Thermal yoga, on the other hand, combines the mechanical energy generated by posture movements and muscles and bones, and uses internal and external heat to dilate blood vessels, improving the balance of blood circulation throughout the body, thus achieving the dual benefits of exercise and sauna.

①EaglePose

When you complete this action, you feel a great sense of accomplishment. The process of doing this action is very interesting. First of all, you have to figure out which arm is around in front so that the direction of your palm is correct, otherwise it will just be an imitation. Look at Harry behind Sean. He has been practicing yoga as an amateur for more than two years, but he can only twist himself into a half-twisted knot, which looks so loose that people worry that it will come loose at any time. It's not that Harry is not working hard, it's because he is a boy - most boys' ligaments are not flexible enough.

Physical feeling: Even if you twist it into a complete twist, it is not easy to stand steadily and hold on for one minute! Remember: keep breathing deeply and evenly, and then, use your perseverance to persevere.

②HalfmoonPose

This is the first of a series of 26 poses and is relatively easy to imitate. When Sean stretched out his arms easily and slowly bent his body to one side, I almost immediately followed suit. I accidentally looked at my own posture in the mirror. Oh my god, my belly was protruding, my neck was hunched, and my arms were clamped tightly and straight. Unfortunately, as my body bent, I lost my direction and my head tilted to the back.

Physical sensation: If you do not pay attention to pulling in your abdomen and lifting your chest, and bring your arms close to your ears, you will not be able to breathe smoothly.

③Standing head to knee pose

To be honest, I was not able to imitate this move in the end. My legs couldn't be stretched out in the air, and I was frustrated to find that it was because my arms were too short. To the point that I couldn't even touch my own feet, they were so far away. Alas, the ligaments are too tight. The coach supported and pushed me, and I finally held on for 5 seconds. These 5 seconds built up my confidence.

Physical sensation: Completed with help, no independent movement experience yet.

④Toe Exercise Toe and Pose

This is a difficult move! Put your hands together and move your foot to the groin of your other leg... Slowly squat down, and then continue squatting with the help of your hands.

But even after successfully squatting on one leg and raising my heels, balancing entirely on my toes...I failed.

Physical feeling: Sean said that we should first maintain even and deep breathing. However, as a first-time user, I felt that I didn’t dare to breathe out, for fear that I would fall down.

⑤CamelPose

I won’t say too much about “Camel”. The extent to which one can reflect on oneself varies from person to person. It cannot be forced, and it is certainly not possible to do it perfectly the first time. As for me, I still have a little confidence in doing this action.

Body feeling: Look back as far as possible, support your heels with your hands, and keep your knees at a right angle.

⑥CobrePose

When Sean said, "Please lie down face down," I felt ecstatic, thinking that I could rest for a while, so I lay down comfortably. At this point, we had been twisting and turning in a 34℃ room for an hour, so how could we have the energy to imitate? I tried hard to raise my head...but it still fell down as if the tendons were broken.

Physical feeling: It’s really tiring!
