First, warm-up exercises can prevent cramps in the water. Because the temperature of human skin is generally higher than the water temperature, if you jump into the water without doing warm-up exercises, the skin will be stimulated by the cold water, causing the muscles in various parts of the body to contract strongly, making cramps, strains and other discomforts likely to occur. In severe cases, drowning accidents may occur. Warm-up exercises can warm up the muscles of the whole body before going into the water and increase blood circulation in the muscles, which can better resist the stimulation of cold water.

Things to note before swimming:

1. Warm up with a jog

Individuals can jog for an appropriate time and distance based on previous running experience, until the body warms up and sweats slightly.

2 Head movement

Key points of the action: Stand with your hands on your hips, and move your head in four directions: front, back, left, and right. Complete two beats in each direction, and complete the movement of the four directions in one eight-beat cycle, for a total of four eight-beat cycles. Afterwards, the head rotates clockwise and counterclockwise respectively, alternating between the two directions, one circle in each direction for eight beats, completing four circles of head rotation for four eight beats.
