Doing sit-ups does not require any time, location or number of people restrictions and is one of the best exercises for losing weight and keeping fit. First, let’s learn about sit-ups, a way of exercising. Lie on your back with your legs together and your hands raised. Contract your abdominal muscles and swing your arms forward. Quickly sit down. Continue to bend your upper body forward, touch your feet with your hands, and lower your head. Then return to a sitting position. This process continues.

Then let us understand what aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise are. Aerobic exercise refers to physical exercise performed by the human body with adequate oxygen supply. That is, during exercise, the amount of oxygen inhaled by the human body is equal to its demand, reaching a state of physiological balance.

Aerobic exercise is a kind of regular exercise that can last for more than 5 minutes with some energy left. Whether it is "aerobic exercise" is measured by heart rate. Exercise with a heart rate maintained at 150 beats/minute is aerobic exercise, because at this time the blood can supply the myocardium with sufficient oxygen; therefore, it is characterized by low intensity, rhythm, and long duration.

Anaerobic exercise is relative to aerobic exercise. During exercise, the body's metabolism is accelerated, and accelerated metabolism requires more energy. The human body's energy is obtained through the metabolism of sugar, protein and fat in the body. Under normal circumstances, aerobic metabolism cannot meet the body's needs at this time, so sugar undergoes anaerobically metabolism to quickly produce a large amount of energy. Exercise in this state is anaerobic exercise.

According to the basic definition of sit-ups and anaerobic exercise, sit-ups are not anaerobic exercise. Sit-ups can only provide local exercise. There is nothing wrong with doing sit-ups if you just want to have a perfect abdominal muscle, but if you want to lose fat, then sit-ups will not achieve your goal.
