What kind of sport is yoga?

Because yoga can beautify and nourish the skin, lose weight, improve one's temperament and fight many diseases, yoga is now very popular in our country and many people can practice some yoga moves. But although many people are practicing yoga, they may not know much about it. So, what kind of exercise is yoga? Is it the same as the physical exercise you usually do?

Yoga is an easy-to-understand system of exercises that stretches, strengthens and tones the entire body to tone and enhance physical health. Yoga is one of the six orthodox systems of Indian philosophy. The system of yoga is to teach people how to combine and connect their individual soul with the Supreme Soul, and ultimately achieve liberation.

Yoga differs from sports in the following ways:

Yoga abandons the consciousness of competition, requires calming the body and mind, comprehensively increasing the body's tolerance and control, and paying more attention to self-cultivation.

Sports are highly competitive. For example, the spirit promoted by the Olympic Games is faster, higher, stronger. It can cultivate people's hard work and effort as well as the tacit cooperation spirit of a team.

(2) Different purposes of practice:

Yoga makes people calm, healthy and elegant, balanced in body and mind, and focuses on spiritual practice.

Sports make people dynamic and energetic, fit and focused on winning and losing.

(3) Different technologies used:

The eight breathing methods in yoga are mainly used to stretch and relax the muscles and keep the body static.

Sports mainly involve muscle contraction and keeping the body in motion.

(4) Different physiological changes:

Yoga can improve the strength of muscles, bones and the toughness of ligaments and tendons, enhance the body's tolerance and sense of control, strengthen the body's internal organs, glands, and nervous system, mainly the red muscles that focus on endurance. It can balance energy and is an adjustment process that can make the body and mind full of vitality and energy, and relieve physical and mental fatigue.

Yoga is a very ancient sport in India. When exercising, one needs to harmoniously integrate the mind, spirit and body to achieve a high degree of unity between spirit and body. It is different from general sports. It can not only calm people down, but also make people's temperament more elegant and strengthen their body.
