How many times a week should you practice hot yoga?

We all know that to practice yoga, one must first have good body flexibility, otherwise some movements will not be graceful enough. In fact, everyone can practice yoga. Since we can't go in depth, we can just practice the most basic ones. It can not only dredge the muscles and bones, but also has the effect of losing weight. For yoga, we need to practice more to see obvious changes. Hot yoga is also very good for people, but people are not very aware of it. How many times a week should you practice hot yoga?

A hot yoga class is about 60 minutes long. The movements are basically fixed and the exercises must be performed one after another in sequence. After 60 minutes of practice, the body can reach a state of balance. The best time to practice is 2 to 3 times a week, but not too much. For those who have never practiced hot yoga (or have never practiced yoga), the advice is to take it slow, starting with 1-2 times a week, first adapting to the temperature and postures, and then progressing step by step.

When you get used to the temperature, postures and teacher, you can slowly increase the frequency of practice, for example to three classes a week. But please note that it is best to have a little gap between the three classes. Don’t take them for three consecutive days and then rest for three days. And if you start with a certain frequency, please try to stick to it.

The biggest effect of hot yoga on the human body is its detoxification process. Through the practice of temperature (about 38-42 degrees Celsius) and speed, the human body sweats several times more than usual, and the excess fat in the body is discharged through sweat, thereby playing a detoxifying and fat-burning role.

Things to note when practicing hot yoga:

1. Practicing hot yoga will put a certain amount of pressure on the heart and respiratory system. People with heart disease, low blood pressure or weak constitution should be cautious. Beginners may feel dizzy, which is normal. Pay attention to time management when practicing, take appropriate breaks and replenish water in the middle.

2. Drink enough water during the exercise. Drink water in small sips at different times to replenish energy for the body and help to better excrete toxins from the body.

3. People with severe colds, fevers, kidney disease, diabetes, epilepsy, heart disease, and high blood pressure are not suitable for practicing hot yoga.

4. It is not advisable to leave the classroom or take a shower immediately after class, especially in severe winter, as it is easy to catch a cold, leading to fever or pain in some cold joints.

5. You can take a shower and eat 30 minutes after the exercise.

6. Since hot yoga practice will make the body sweat a lot, drink a small amount of salt water before practice, and replenish a large amount of water containing electrolytes after practice.

7. Since hot yoga practice will make the body sweat a lot, please do not put on makeup before practicing, because sweating will clog the pores.

8. If you experience excessive sweating, dehydration, nausea, excessive fatigue, abdominal pain, etc., please stop practicing immediately and go out for fresh air. If your symptoms do not improve after trying several times, it means that your physical condition is not suitable for this yoga system and it is recommended to choose another one.

9. Do not eat three hours before practice, drink a large glass of water 20 minutes before practice, and do not eat within 1 hour after practice.

After reading the above introduction about how many times a week you should practice hot yoga, I think everyone should have some understanding. You can arrange the number of times you practice hot yoga a week by yourself, but it is best to gradually increase the frequency of practice. Therefore, we must correctly understand and master the relevant knowledge in this regard, and work out a plan that suits us and exercise well to maintain our health.
