How to do yoga meditation

Practicing asanas is the most common way to enter meditation in yoga. Only by mastering this method can you stretch the joints of the body to a better position. Why does the waist become so soft when practicing yoga? This is because the softness of yoga is different from the softness of acrobatics. Yoga is achieved through meditation and then constantly expanding and stretching one's body, while acrobatics is about controlling the body to a certain degree. So how do you practice yoga meditation?

Choose a dedicated place to practice, which can help you find a sense of peace and ease into a meditative state. Pick a regular time - early morning and late evening are ideal. Using the same time and place will allow your mind to relax and calm down faster. Sit down with your back, neck, and head in one straight line, facing north or east. During meditation, keep your body warm (you can wrap yourself in a blanket if it's cool) and guide your mind to remain calm. Get your breathing into a regular pattern - start with 5 minutes of deep breathing, then let your breathing settle. Establish a rhythmic breathing structure - inhale for 3 seconds, then exhale for 3 seconds. When your mind starts to wander, don't take it personally and don't force yourself to settle down. After calming down, let your consciousness stay on a fixed target, which can be between your eyebrows or at the position of your heart. Use the meditation technique of your choice to enter a meditative state. Until a very pure meditative state arrives, do not force it; allow the wandering state to continue to exist naturally. After a period of practice, the wandering state of mind will gradually subside, eventually leading to pure samadhi (the state of highest conscious awareness).

Before entering the formal meditation stage, you should also pay attention to the following points: choose a posture that you feel comfortable and relaxed to practice. If possible, use the lotus posture; but if you cannot do such a posture, you can choose to practice in a simple sitting position. Correct and stable sitting posture is the key to successful meditation, because an unstable posture will make the mind and consciousness unstable as well. Try not to eat before meditation as this can affect your concentration. Try meditating once a day to begin with, and then increase to twice a day. The meditation time can be gradually increased from 5 minutes to 20 minutes or longer, but do not force yourself to sit for a long time.

The hardest thing about meditation is quieting your mind and body. When we meditate, we are often distracted by some messy or annoying things in reality and cannot calm down. In fact, people's minds are very good at being fanciful and creating annoyance. Yoga meditation can help people relieve mental stress.
