How to float while backstroke

How to float while backstroke

In life, many people like swimming very much, because swimming is a special sport for weight loss, and this sport can exercise the whole body and lung capacity. There are many swimming styles, including breaststroke, backstroke, and freestyle. When many people just start learning to swim, they can only swim tightly for a while, so how can they float in the backstroke?

1. Hands and head

If we want to float when doing backstroke, our head must be raised, but the amplitude should not be too large, otherwise it will be easy to drink water. When backstroke, the hands need to paddling forward alternately and the head should swing to both sides. Only in this way can our body stay floating on the water. When doing backstroke, you must pay attention to breathing through your mouth, not your nose, otherwise your nose will often choke on water, which is not conducive to your smooth backstroke.

2. Legs and Waist

In order to keep our body floating on the water, we must rely on the strength of our legs. The forward momentum of backstroke is the sliding of the legs. When the legs are bent, they should kick upwards, and when the legs become straight, they should press the water downwards, so that the body can always float on the water. When we do backstroke, we must ensure that the waist and upper part of the chest are above the water surface, so that the body will not sink under the water and will not drink water easily. The body posture should be adjusted at any time and should not be stiff all the time.

3. Relax your mind

The reason why many people cannot float on the water is because they are too nervous. When the mentality is too tense, the body's muscles will become stiff, which is not conducive to the smooth progress of our backstroke. Only when you relax your mind and keep your muscles active can you do the backstroke normally.

4. Step by step

When learning backstroke, we must pay attention to gradual progress, otherwise the efficiency of swimming learning will be very low. Generally, when you start learning to swim, you should first learn freestyle, and then start learning backstroke, breaststroke, etc. Only by laying a good foundation first can we learn backstroke without encountering many obstacles.
