What are the injuries of ball sports?

Regular exercise is certainly a good thing for us, but some people will have some problems when exercising, such as ball sports injuries. In this case, we must go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination in time to avoid leaving some hidden dangers, which will bring us unexpected consequences in our future life. Next, let us learn about what ball sports injuries are?

Ball games are quite common in my country, and basketball, football, and volleyball are particularly popular among the masses. Therefore, injuries caused by ball games are also very common.

1. Basketball is the most popular sport in my country. It is an ever-changing sport that requires comprehensive physical development and physical training of the players. The most common injuries are acute injuries caused by falling, jumping for the ball and landing incorrectly (stepping on someone else's feet or being stepped on), sudden stops, sudden turns, collisions, or uneven or slippery playing surfaces. The mildest form of trauma is just a minor abrasion, while the most severe form may be a fracture or dislocation. The more common ones include ankle ligament sprains or fractures (which often become chronic diseases due to improper treatment, and the frequent pain hinders movement), knee meniscus injuries, finger contusions and scaphoid fractures in the wrist. In addition, chronic trauma can also occur in basketball. Among them, patellar chondrosis is the one that most affects sports training and technical performance. Its occurrence is mainly due to excessive local training such as sliding offense and defense, sudden stop and jump layup, so it should be paid attention to. Necessary preventive measures include strengthening comprehensive training, avoiding single-player training methods, creating standard venue hygiene conditions, and strengthening athletes' discipline education and refereeing work. At the same time, attention should be paid to the athlete's excessive fatigue state to reduce the possibility of trauma.

The occurrence of these injuries can be summarized as follows:

1. Injuries caused by intense competition. Intense scrambling, sprinting and tackling during competition can easily cause muscle strain and rupture in the thigh and calf. Sudden changes in body position, sudden twisting, adduction or abduction of the lower leg can cause damage to the ligaments and bones of the knee and ankle joints.

2. Injury caused by indirect effect of the ball This type of injury is more common in the lower limbs. For example, kicking the ball with the outside of the foot can easily damage the anterior talofibular ligament, which is the most common ankle injury. When you kick a ball with the inner front of your foot, the knee joint will be flexed and the calf will suddenly be externally rotated and abducted due to the force of the ball, which can easily damage the medial collateral ligament, meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament of the knee. This is especially likely to happen when you are "foot-to-foot" with an opposing athlete.

In addition, a powerful "bend the knee and swing the leg with the instep" kick will cause the quadriceps to contract violently due to the reaction of the ball, which often causes tears in the quadriceps, rectus femoris belly or aponeurosis. In children, it often leads to the occurrence of tibial tubercle chondritis.

3. Ball injuries such as facial abrasions, contusions, abdominal contusions (liver and spleen rupture, gastrointestinal contusions), scrotal and testicular contusions, etc. But the most typical and common injury is the goalkeeper's finger injury, such as ligament traction and joint subluxation of the thumb, index finger or other fingers.

4. During kicking games, the calves and thighs are often kicked by the opponent's "boots", "knees" and "calves", causing muscle contusion, subcutaneous hematoma, muscle rupture (the most common is quadriceps injury) and bone injury (such as tibial fracture, or tibial traumatic periostitis), etc.

From this we can see that injuries from ball sports are quite serious. Sometimes it will hurt our arms, sometimes it will hurt our legs. No matter which part of our body is injured, we must receive treatment and examination. We cannot cause more serious diseases due to our carelessness or other reasons. This is extremely bad.
