Effects of running on the knee joint

Be sure to make appropriate preparations before running, otherwise you may cause muscle strain in your knee joints. You should do some simple limb exercises before running, especially in winter when the muscles are particularly stiff. Doing some warm-up exercises can effectively improve the elasticity and extensibility of the muscles, and can effectively reduce damage to the knee joints during running. Let's briefly describe the impact of running on the knee joints.

1. Running, especially on a treadmill, does cause potential damage to the knees. You can avoid this by walking slowly for a while, such as 5 minutes, before running to warm up your knees. The exception is your running speed. I personally feel that it is a bit too fast. If this is a warm-up, you can run at 8 to 10 minutes. Walking for 5 minutes and running for 15 minutes is just right. Because you are thin, the purpose of exercise should be to increase muscle volume, so it is not suitable for you to do aerobic exercise for a long time, because firstly, it consumes physical energy, and secondly, long-term aerobic exercise will secrete a substance that inhibits the secretion of testosterone, which is not good for muscle growth.

2. The "knee wear and tear" caused by running is usually just very fine cracks, and can "self-heal" quickly without people noticing. Running often strengthens the leg muscles and gives runners stronger bones.

But there are also certain risks. Sometimes it can cause soft tissue injuries or compression fractures, also called hairline fractures, which are caused by tiny cracks in the bone that accumulate over time. It is not uncommon for tiny cracks to appear on some bones that bear heavy weight for a long time, such as the tibia located on the inner side of the lower leg.

If we don't make appropriate preparations before running, it will cause great damage to our knee joints. At the same time, we should not do running exercises in foggy weather. The haze may cause us chest tightness, which may endanger our physical health and cause us to have breathing problems.
