1. Even if the swimming pool has been disinfected, the bacteria may not be completely killed. Bacteria invade the respiratory tract and digestive tract through the mouth, causing infection. Especially when the body's resistance is reduced, or there are wounds or inflammation in the oral mucosa, it is more susceptible to infection, resulting in swollen gums and even oral ulcers.

Rinse your mouth with clean water immediately after swimming. If conditions permit, mouthwash can be used for disinfection. Washing immediately after swimming can promptly remove bacteria remaining on the surface of the mouth and prevent them from developing deeper into the mouth and causing infection.

Do not drink water or eat before rinsing your mouth.

2. Wash your skin carefully. After swimming, germs can easily remain on the skin. In addition, swimming pools often use chlorine for disinfection, which can easily irritate the skin. Therefore, after swimming, it is best to take a thorough bath with a shower gel containing nourishing ingredients. Some people think that since chlorine is acidic, swimming pool water is naturally acidic as well, so they use alkaline soap to take a bath, thinking that the acid and alkali can neutralize each other and protect the skin. In fact, this is not good for the skin. Generally speaking, the stratum corneum of the skin is more resistant to acid but not to alkali. Bathing with a strongly alkaline soap will easily cause the skin to dry out. In addition, we should also note that it is best to apply a moisturizing lotion after bathing.

3. Don’t wash your hair too hastily. When hair is soaked, it is easy to harbor germs, and the chlorine in the pool water will directly damage the hair shaft, causing the hair to become dull and dry, so you must wash your hair carefully after swimming, and it is best to use conditioner to enhance protection. Some people do not use shampoo after swimming. They just rinse their hair with hot water or simply dry their hair with a towel. This will leave germs. If the scalp is damaged, the wound will easily be contaminated.

During swimming, water is likely to get into the ears. Jumping on the same side can help the water in the ears be discharged quickly. At the same time, you can also perform moderate massage or take a moderate rest in a sunny place to minimize muscle stiffness or excessive fatigue.
