4. Give yourself a goal

Running will be more motivating and enjoyable if you have a clear goal to strive for. When you achieve a goal or run a certain distance, you feel a sense of pride, and for many people, this kind of goal provides the motivation they need.

For many people, fitness is a way to ensure health rather than to run faster and longer, so you can set goals for indicators such as heart rate and lung capacity.
