Causes muscular rheumatism

When people exercise vigorously, the blood flow in the muscles increases. Once they stop exercising, the increased heart rate and blood flow will continue for a while. If they take a cold shower or go swimming right away, it will easily affect the opening of sweat pores, resulting in heat not being able to dissipate, which can easily cause muscular rheumatism.

Increase the burden on the heart

After strenuous exercise, the blood vessels in the muscles and skin expand to adapt to the needs of heat dissipation and clearance of metabolic products. If you take a cold shower or swim immediately after a morning run, the blood vessels in the skin and muscles will contract when exposed to the cold, and a large amount of blood will flow back to the heart, reducing the blood supply to the muscles, thereby increasing the burden on the heart.

Causes decreased resistance

After a morning run, the body temperature rises and will not recover for a while. If you take a cold shower or swim immediately, the body will be suddenly stimulated by the cold. The large temperature difference between hot and cold can easily cause the nasopharyngeal capillaries to contract sharply, resulting in a decrease in local resistance and causing colds, coughs, pharyngitis and other diseases.

Causes Yang Qi weakness

According to traditional Chinese medicine, sweat is the fluid of the heart and excessive sweating can easily damage the yang. Cold water is a yin and cold product. Therefore, taking a cold shower or swimming immediately after sweating profusely can easily cause damage to the body's yang, leading to systemic diseases such as yang deficiency.

How long after a morning run can you take a shower?

After running, you can do some stretching exercises for 10 minutes, wait until your heart rate returns to normal, drink a cup of warm water, and wait until your body temperature slowly returns to normal and you stop sweating, then you can take a hot bath. Be careful not to take a bath for too long, keep it within 20 minutes. Taking a bath for too long can easily cause dizziness, dry skin and other phenomena.
