Competitive aerobics is currently divided into three types of competitions:

Competitive aerobics has strict and unified standards in terms of the size of the practice venue, the number of practitioners, specific movements, and the speed of the movements. It must be performed according to the rules and no changes may be made without authorization.

Competitive aerobics originated from traditional aerobics. As a competitive sport, its competition consists of the following events: men's singles, women's singles, mixed doubles, three-person (three athletes of any gender), and six-person (currently limited to domestic competitions).

The time limit for a single-player match is 1 minute and 30 seconds, plus or minus five seconds. The time limit for mixed doubles, three-person and six-person events is 1 minute and 45 seconds, with a fluctuation of 5 seconds. The single-player competition venue is 7×7 square meters (the mixed doubles, three-person, and six-person venues are 10×10 square meters). There are also special regulations for competition attire, which are generally tight-fitting professional aerobics attire. The competition has special competition rules, and detailed explanations are given for every specific detail.
