How many push-ups can the average person do?

The push-up scoring standard for adults aged 20-39 reflects the strength of the upper limbs, shoulders and back muscles and the ability to work continuously. Use the mat test.

During the test, the subject supports himself with his hands on the ground, fingers facing forward, hands as wide as shoulders, body straight, arms bent to lower the body straight down until shoulders and elbows are at the same level, then straighten the body up and return to the starting position to complete one repetition (see the picture on the right). Record the number of times.

Test Note: During the test, if the body does not remain straight or the body does not descend to the same level as the shoulders and elbows, the test will not be counted.

Notes: 1. Exercise gradually from easy to difficult, from little to more, and from light to heavy.

2. Choose appropriate exercise methods and control exercise load according to your physical condition.

3. Perform warm-up and cool-down activities to prevent injuries and muscle stiffness.

4. The elderly are prohibited from using finger-style, clapping, and weight-bearing exercises. This method is contraindicated for patients with heart disease and hypertension.

5. Push-ups are gravity training. Doing push-ups for a long time can easily cause greater pressure and impact on the knuckles (fist style), wrist joints (palm style) and shoulder joints, causing pain and damage to the above parts, so you need to take good care of these joints in daily life.

Push-ups are a very good exercise for us. We can do them before going to bed every night. This not only helps with fitness, but also helps us sleep.
