Is running in place considered aerobic exercise?

Aerobic exercise is a sport that is very popular among women nowadays, because aerobic exercise, compared with the more common sports, is gentler, but the exercise effect achieved is more significant, and it can better help women shape their bodies. However, there are many types of aerobic exercise, so we need to choose scientifically. What I want to introduce to you below is whether running in place is an aerobic exercise.

Aerobic exercise refers to long-term exercise (endurance exercise) that fully and effectively stimulates the heart (circulatory system) and lungs (respiratory system), thereby improving heart and lung function. This allows all tissues and organs in the body to receive a good supply of oxygen and nutrients, maintaining optimal functional conditions. Therefore, aerobic exercise refers to long-term (more than 15 minutes, preferably 30-60 minutes): jogging, swimming, cycling, walking, running in place, aerobics, etc.

And static training, weightlifting or fitness equipment, sprinting and other exercises are called anaerobic exercise. Although they can enhance a person's muscles and explosive power, their fitness effects are not as good as aerobic exercise because they cannot effectively stimulate the heart and lung functions. After years of research and summary, Dr. Cooper came to the following conclusions about the effects of aerobic exercise on the body. It must be pointed out that this is not an unfounded conjecture, but is based on sufficient scientific research results.

1. It can improve the function of the lungs - with a little effort, you can inhale a large amount of air. During intense activities, you can inhale almost twice as much oxygen as people with poor endurance, thus fully supplying oxygen to various tissues and organs of the body.

2. It can enhance the function of the heart - each time the heart beats, it can pump out more blood; the heart rate is reduced. Normally, the heart beats about 20 times less per minute than that of people with poor endurance. A night's sleep (8 hours) can reduce the heart's beats by more than 10,000 times, so the heart can get sufficient rest; when engaging in intense activities, the heart can pump out all the blood with fewer heart beats than people with poor endurance, while people with poor endurance need to work hard to supply the required oxygen.

3. It can increase the number of open blood vessels and enlarge their caliber, so that oxygen can be fully delivered to each tissue and organ and maintain their function in the best condition.

Sticking to aerobic exercise is very effective in helping you maintain your figure and improve your body's resistance. This kind of aerobic exercise is easier for people to stick to and helps us achieve better fitness results. If you have the habit of exercising, you can also choose your favorite aerobic exercise according to your preferences.
