How to stick to exercise

How to stick to exercise

Many people simply have no way to exercise. On the first day, they thought to themselves that they would run for half an hour every day from now on, but on the second day, due to their laziness, they easily gave up the idea of exercising. In fact, it takes at least 30 days for a person to develop a habit of doing something. If you want to stick to something, you must completely change your thinking, which is the so-called "thought change."

Many people set a goal to exercise regularly, but few make it a daily habit. In the eyes of the "time machine lovers", this matter is too time-consuming, requires a lot of sweat, and requires too much effort. People are psychologically lazy and will make excuses for themselves to give up exercising. If they give up once, there will be a next time.

There is an amygdala structure in the human midbrain, which controls our stress response. When encountering urgent risks, the amygdala structure can remind the body to take immediate action. At the same time, it reduces or suspends other functions of the human body (such as rational and creative thinking) to deal with the crisis with all its strength.

In addition to "change", we actually have other options when it comes to persisting in exercise. On the road leading to the top of the mountain, there is another road with a very small slope. There is no feeling of climbing a mountain at all. Walking there makes you feel happy, and solving problems is easy. You just have to move forward step by step. This is the "improvement method".

As you plan small steps toward changing yourself, always remember that sometimes laziness will get in the way no matter how well you plan. Don't give up! Instead, take smaller steps. This is the charm of "improvement".

Sometimes, you may have intended to ship it, but suddenly you lose interest and give up. This is the most critical time. Since you have no interest in exercise at this time, you can divert your attention. For example, instead of participating in physical exercise, you can consciously climb the stairs, or go out for a walk around the block one or two times. The advantage of doing this is that although you are not exercising, your body is exercising and benefits from the exercise.
