Is it suitable to run after a meal?

You can run after a meal, but it should be at least one hour later, otherwise it will be harmful to your body. Generally, you should have a good rest half an hour after a meal and try to keep a good mood, which is also good for digestion. If you want to exercise after half an hour, you can take a walk. Slow walking will not have any effect on your body. On the contrary, it is good for your body. It can help digestion, exercise and lose weight. Therefore, the timing of exercise after meals is very important.

The length of the interval between a meal and exercise largely depends on the type of meal and the amount consumed. Other determining factors include age, physical condition, and exercise intensity. For an average middle-aged person, if the meal before exercise is large and mostly consists of foods high in protein and fat, the interval should be more than two hours; if the meal is small and mainly consists of carbohydrates, the interval can be shortened to 30 minutes to 1 hour. It's best to make any changes gradually, but if you experience any muscular or digestive problems, you should pause.

Dangers of exercising after meals

Exercise requires a lot of blood to increase oxygen content. If we exercise immediately after a meal, more blood will flow to the exercising muscles and bones, which will hinder the digestive process of the stomach and intestines. The most direct manifestation is stomach pain after exercising after a meal.

Over time, this bad living habit will easily cause more gastrointestinal diseases. Such as common stomach diseases, appendicitis, etc. Once you develop gastrointestinal disease, it will stay with you for the rest of your life. So, while exercise is important, you must also be cautious and be kind to your stomach.

If you are running, you should do it at least one hour later, usually one hour or one and a half hours is enough. But don't run too hard, just normal jogging will be enough. Don't do exercises like the 100-meter sprint, which is harmful to the body. Generally, you can do all kinds of exercise two hours after a meal.
