How to do 7-day weight loss yoga

Now I will introduce to you a set of 7-day yoga exercises for weight loss.

Downward Dog

This is a classic yoga move that works both your upper and lower body and stretches your ligaments.

Support yourself with your hands and feet, and lift your body into an inverted "V" shape. Make sure your hands are shoulder-width apart with your fingers spread out. Stand with your feet hip-width apart, heels pointed back, and toes, heels, and hips aligned.

Relax your head, maintain this position, and take 5 deep breaths.

One-legged Downward Dog

This variation of One-Legged Downward Dog bends the uplifted leg, which improves hip flexibility and stretches the spine and tendons.

Start in Downward Dog with your feet together and your thumbs pressed together. Keeping your left heel on the floor, lift your right leg into Single-Legged Downward Dog and bend your knee. Try to bring the heel of your right leg toward your buttocks and stretch your knee upward as far as possible. Lift your head and look to the left, extending and flexing your spine. Bring your right heel as close to your head as possible.

Hold this position for 5 deep breaths, then relax.

Sprint

Runners should be very familiar with this position. Although it looks familiar, it is definitely different and can effectively shape the thigh lines.

From Downward Dog, inhale, and step your right leg in between your hands as if you were going into Warrior Pose. Bend over and reach your right arm through your bent knee, holding your right ankle with both hands. Keep your center of gravity and hold this position. If this is too much stress on the inner thighs, you can support yourself with one or both hands on the floor.

Hold this position for five deep breaths. Then support yourself on the floor with your hands, pull your right leg back, and relax with a set of tandem yoga movements (Calabash pose - Upward dog pose - Downward dog pose), and then continue with the movements on the left side.

Sideways Lizard

This lizard pose variation works your hard-to-reach hips while also improving ligament flexibility.

Start in a lunge position and lower your hands back to the ground. Maintaining the position of your right leg, slowly move your right knee to the right until the ligament reaches its maximum tolerance. Extend your arms straight and hold them tightly against your chest, as in upward facing dog. This will help you keep your hips lowered and increase the extension in your body.

Look forward and take 5 deep breaths.

Sideways

Another essential stretch for runners, this sideways stretch variation allows the arms to relax and focuses on the back and legs.

Start from the previous movement, Side Lizard Pose, straighten your bent knees and stand firmly on your legs. Bring your legs slightly inward a few inches toward your hands. If your ligaments are flexible enough, you can also press your body directly against your right leg and place your hands on the ground. Try to keep your pelvis parallel to the front edge of the yoga mat.
