Will running make your thighs thicker?

Will running make your thighs thicker?

Running is a very simple and effective aerobic exercise. It can make people have a good figure, exercise their bodies and improve their physical fitness. However, many female friends have worries. They are afraid that running will make their thighs thicker and they don’t like to have muscles like men on their thighs. So there are always female friends asking questions like "will running make the thighs thicker?"

All muscles that are exercised are more likely to absorb nutrients than muscles that have not been used for a long time. Exercise can also relatively increase the level of growth hormone. However, whether each person's legs will become thicker during exercise depends on the specific situation:

1. Measure the way you exercise. One of the main conditions for developing muscles during high strength training. General jogging, relaxing running, and long-distance running not for the purpose of competitive results are all relatively gentle exercises, and do not develop muscles to a relatively small extent. Other exercises that are relatively gentle in terms of strength include: cycling, easy rope skipping, swimming, etc. However, fast running and strength training are of higher intensity. At the same time, pay attention to using gentle force during exercise, disperse the force, and let more muscle groups bear the force, which can disperse the burden on the muscles.

2. Congestion and relaxation. The muscles are relatively tense after exercise, and the local capillaries will be more congested than usual, but the intensity of ordinary exercise and strength training is different, so relatively gentle exercise will recover quickly. Relaxation and massage after exercise can speed up the removal of fatigue and the clearance of metabolic products, but there is no evidence that these exercises can prevent the legs from becoming thicker.

Generally speaking, long-term short-distance running will make the calves and thighs thicker, but sticking to a more gentle running method of long-distance running and jogging may reduce the risk of thickening the thighs. If girls don't want to have hard thigh muscles, they must massage their legs or apply hot compresses after running. I hope everyone can have a good figure while having a good body.
