The first suggestion is to go to bed early and get 7 hours of sleep every day, because for muscle growth, rest is more important than exercise. Muscle growth occurs during rest. If you only exercise but do not get enough rest, muscle growth will not be obvious.

The second suggestion is to eat more. Although I don’t know your age, when I went to the gym, I asked our coach how I should eat. The coach looked at me and said, “People of your age, you don’t need to pay attention to anything. You only need to pay attention to one thing. You treat yourself like a trash can and eat everything.”

Although this is just a joke, I have always done this. Of course, eating everything does not mean junk food. High-protein, high-fiber and high-carbohydrate foods are the best. If you are determined, divide your daily diet into five meals. Eat three meals as usual, eat more high-protein foods such as eggs and beef, and also eat more high-carbohydrate foods such as rice and steamed buns. For snacks between the three meals, you can eat apples and bananas, which can supplement vitamins and help muscle growth. Drink some milk and the like. If possible, drink a glass of protein powder within an hour after exercise, because the muscles are hungry and thirsty just after exercise, and the supplementation effect is best at this time.

The third suggestion is to divide the exercise into groups, and do each group to exhaustion. The interval between groups should not be too long, generally not more than one minute, and can be adjusted as appropriate according to your own situation. You can move around and relax your muscles between groups. For example, when doing push-ups, I do 4 to 6 groups each time, 40 in each group. You can adjust the number of times in each group according to your physical condition.
